It’s been years since Vassar served milk from the college’s own herd of Holsteins, but the heifers have recently returned to pasture on Joss Beach, providing a soothing distraction from the nearby Davison renovation. Local graphic artist Richard Deon (with the help of his niece, Sarah Deon) used hand-cut stencils and spray paint to create the nearly 1,000-foot-long fence.
