Get involved and help make someone else’s season bright! Here are some ideas from the holiday action programs offered by the Field Work Office:
Donate to the annual toy drive for children of migrant farm workers. All toys go to the Rural and Migrant Ministry which does social justice work for migrant farmers and runs youth programs for their children. Contact Alice O’Keefe (alokeefe) for details.
Adopt-a-Family, which works in conjunction with Battered Women’s Services, ensures that less fortunate families have presents to open on Christmas. For information, contact community action coordinator Evan Franzel ’09 (evafranzel).
Volunteer for the "Holiday Gift Giving at Hospitals and Nursing Homes" and help deliver 7,000 wrapped presents to elderly people. To get involved, contact John Flowers at 471-7565.
It’s not too late to donate to Community Works!
We’ve already raised $55,000 on our way to a goal of $90,000. The last day for payroll deduction pledges is December 12.
